A Hospice Heart

Volunteers are an essential part of our team

Volunteering with Hospice Maui provides a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on individuals and their families during their most vulnerable times.

Volunteering can be both challenging and deeply rewarding,
so it is no wonder that many of our volunteers share the feeling of a calling to serve.

Gifts of Volunteering

  • Community Service ~ Volunteering with Hospice Maui is a special way to connect and give back to the community, providing services that may not otherwise be available and improving the quality of life for everyone involved.

  •  Fulfillment & Connection ~ Providing comfort and support to those who need it most leads to a deeper connection to our community. Volunteering also provides opportunities to meet others with similar interests and values, helping to build lasting relationships.

  • Personal Growth ~ Engaging with patients and their families during such a profound time fosters greater empathy, patience, and emotional resilience. Many volunteers find that providing support during the end of life cultivates a deeper understanding of the spiritual aspects of death and dying.

For those called to this work, your life experience, open heart and a sincere desire to be part of a team caring for those who are dying are your most important qualities.
