This ceremony is a multi-cultural event to honor and remember loved ones who have passed, fostering a sense of peace, gratitude, and hope. The event is open to the public, allowing people to decorate and assemble their own personal lanterns.

Annual Memorial Dove Tree

For the month of December, red paper doves are available to be displayed on a Christmas tree by Bank of Hawaii. People can write on a dove the name of a loved one who have passed away and place it on the tree.

Annual Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony

SAVE THE DATE

Hospice Maui’s annual Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony is a heartfelt tradition honoring the lives of patients we’ve cared for over the past year. This invitational special event provides families a meaningful space to come together, reflect, and remember their loved ones in a comforting and supportive environment.

As part of the ceremony, families are invited to decorate butterflies with the names of their loved ones. These beautifully personalized butterflies are placed on a holiday tree, where they remain throughout the season as a touching tribute. We look forward to celebrating and honoring the patients who have been in our care over the past year.
