An Update on the Vision

Hale Ho`olu`olu receives $750,000 in public investment

With another $750,000 available for FY 13!

The State of Hawaii Legislature and the Maui County Council have included grants in the amount of $500,000 and $250,000 respectively to Hospice Maui, Inc. for Hale Ho`olu`olu. The funds are for construction and the County funds will only be released when the State funds are made available.

Rep. Kyle Yamashita, Rep. Joe Souki and Sen. Shan Tsutsui are to be commended for their leadership and support in making the State grant possible. Councilmember and Chairman of the County of Maui’s Budget Committee provided the leadership for County’s grant. Councilmember’s Gladys Baisa, Mike White, Robert Carroll and Mike Victorino were also extremely vital in the effort to include the funds in the County’s budget.

“Without legislative and council support, this effort could not succeed. We are delighted our representatives at the state and county level share our vision and want to help realize it,” said Greg LaGoy, Hospice Maui, Inc. CEO. “Mahalo nui loa to them for their support.”
